Every SEC team but Texas A&M opened its preseason camp within the last week.

The Aggies report tomorrow, but with 13 teams launching practice, there’s plenty of real football news emerging.

Here are the 10 things we learned this week, as well as some injury news.

1. Tennessee reinstates WR Von Pearson. The senior finished second for the Vols with 38 catches last season, but endured a suspension of more than three months after being accused of sexual assault (the district attorney announced no charges will be filed).

That’s huge news for Tennessee. Josh Malone and converted quarterback Jauan Jennings have drawn good reviews in practice, but there’s a clear line of demarcation between projected starters Pearson, Marquez North, Pig Howard and everyone else.

If all three of those players are healthy and on the field, Tennessee’s passing game is intimidating. Pearson practiced for the first time Saturday, but he has work to do to be ready for the season.

“He is going to have to work his way back into football shape and earn playing time,” coach Butch Jones told the media. “There is no entitlement on our football team.”

2. Clarity on Florida LB Antonio Morrison’s knee injury. A second-team All-SEC player in 2014, Morrison suffered a serious knee injury during the team’s bowl game, apparently requiring two offseason surgeries.

Florida has kept quiet about the details of Morrison’s injury, but he’s one of the most important players on this year’s defense and the team’s most experienced linebacker. Morrison will not participate in any contact drills during preseason practice.

Coach Jim McElwain called it a “miracle” that Morrison was practicing at all, adding that it’s “too early to say if he’ll play.” While the Gators have not ruled out Morrison playing at 100 percent in the season opener, or not playing in it at all, it at least sounds like a distinct possibility.

Jarrad Davis, another returning linebacker with a knee injury, looks fine. Alex Anzalone will inherit a much bigger role if Morrison’s knee affects him early in the season. Media reports pegged him as a player who produced well in spring practice.

3. Auburn WR D’haquille Williams isn’t practicing due to a disciplinary issue. The sometimes-disgruntled receiver, potentially the top-rated player at the position in the 2016 NFL draft,

“Was not at practice for the second day in a row. … Had a discipline issue that we’re taking care of and when he takes care of that he’ll be back on the field,” coach Gus Malzahn said, according to AL.com. “I’ll make that decision, I’ll let you know when he’ll be back. Bottom line, nobody is bigger than the team around here and that’s between me and him.”

That’s not ideal for quarterback Jeremy Johnson and the team’s chemistry in the passing game. From a football standpoint, Auburn needs Williams on the practice field as soon as possible.

4. LSU QB Brandon Harris is taking all the first-team snaps early. Anthony Jennings got suspended for six weeks after an arrest, though he’s since been cleared and reinstated. Early in fall practice, Harris has gotten all the work with the first-team offense, though it could be a part of the “internal discipline” that coach Les Miles promised for Jennings.

Reports out of Baton Rouge suggest Harris is the legitimate starter as of this weekend despite a fluid situation.

Whatever the case, it’s yet another reason to believe Harris will get a long look from the coaching staff and a legitimate chance to win the job.

5. Kentucky OLB Jason Hatcher will face a two-game suspension. The Wildcats made the announcement on Saturday, about 24 hours after media members noted his curious absence from media day.

Hatcher was penciled into the depth chart as the team’s starting outside linebacker. Kentucky was counting on him to provide some pass rush in the wake of Bud Dupree’s departure. Now UK will be without his services against Louisiana-Lafayette and South Carolina.

6. Georgia LB Leonard Floyd will play all over the field. As in outside linebacker, inside linebacker and nickelback.

In bottom-line terms, that means UGA will find a way to play standout pass rushers Floyd, Lorenzo Carter and Jordan Jenkins all at once as often as possible.

7. Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves III will return some kicks in 2015. The All-American defensive back probably is capable of explosive plays on special teams. Florida needs someone to replace long-time kick returner Andre DeBose. And it can only help Hargreaves’ NFL stock.

But McElwain will endure some fierce criticism if Hargreaves gets nicked during a special teams play in any fashion.

8. Tennessee’s freshmen defensive tackles are physically intimidating. Khalil McKenzie and Shy Tuttle are large human beings. They’re already dominating some 1-on-1 matchups in practice. Butch Jones is doing his best to manage outside expectations, but that’s not going to be easy.

9. Kentucky hints that QB Patrick Towles will start. Coach Mark Stoops stopped just short of calling Towles a heavy favorite to beat out Drew Barker in the team’s fall “competition.” But most media members in Lexington, Ky., are reading between the lines.

10. Alabama OT Cam Robinson is fine. The potential All-American left tackle sprained his knee in Saturday’s practice, causing some consternation among fans as they waited for news of his injury. Robinson is one of just two returning starters for Bama this season along the offensive line and could be the most talented player on the offense.

NOTABLE INJURIES

  • South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper (hand) missed the Gamecocks’ scrimmage. He’s likely to be limited in practice most of the preseason, but should be ready to go.
  • Georgia WR/KR Isaiah McKenzie pulled his hamstring in practice Saturday. The coaches said it’s not the same hamstring that caused him to miss significant time this spring.
  • Alabama WR Chris Black, who has been working with the first-team offense, sprained his ankle and is day-to-day.
  • LB Skai Moore also missed Saturday’s scrimmage for South Carolina.
  • Missouri RB Morgan Steward, one year removed from a hip injury that originally was classified as “day-to-day,” finally is close to 100 percent, though he’s still limited to non-contact drills right now.
  • Alabama five-star redshirt freshman CB Marlon Humphrey pulled a muscle and “will be out for a few days,” according to Saban.

QUOTABLE

Kentucky offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson may have been the most quotable SEC coach this week, reeling off three gems during media availability Friday.
