The answer to LSU’s quarterback problems doesn’t rest within Les Miles’ family tree.

Miles’ son, Manny, a three-star quarterback who won a state championship at University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, La. this past fall, made his college decision this weekend. Manny will enroll at North Carolina as a preferred walk-on with the football team.

The younger Miles contemplated playing for his father at LSU.

“LSU was a huge consideration,” Manny told NOLA.com. “I love the coaches. I really do (love) both of them — coach Cam (Cameron) and my dad — but I just feel like UNC fits me better.”

Miles also said that he was interested in Michigan until the Wolverines hired Jim Harbaugh, at which point “the conversation stopped and never picked back up.”

Manny was a standout baseball player at U-High, but he plans to focus on just football at UNC.

The Tigers will once again turn to Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris at quarterback this fall, with the nation’s top-rated dual-threat quarterback, Feleipe Franks, set to join the team in 2016. Freshman Justin McMillan also enrolled at LSU for the spring semester and took part in spring practice.
