The 2017 SEC schedules were released on Tuesday night, but when Mississippi State released its official schedule via Twitter, one team curiously wasn’t mentioned.
Instead of listing “Ole Miss” as the Nov. 23 opponent, the Bulldogs’ schedule only lists “Egg Bowl” in that spot:

Though the decision to not name “Ole Miss” as an opponent might seem minor, it has riled up a portion of the Rebels’ fan base:

This year’s Egg Bowl matchup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 26, in Oxford. The rivalry doesn’t need any more fire behind it, but it may have that now with the Bulldogs’ omission.
