Wednesday’s bombshell report from Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle that Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC about joining the conference has all of the college football world talking.

Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey were among the first people asked to comment on the news.

Texas then responded to media inquiries. Now Oklahoma has done the same. The OU statement reads as follows (via Brett McMurphy):

“The college athletics landscape is shifting constantly. We don’t address every anonymous rumor.”

OU’s statement, which is seemingly addressing an “anonymous rumor,” is very similar in tone to Texas’ statement. Neither statement reads as a strong denial, which means the talk of Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC probably won’t be going away any time soon.
