The basketball rivalry between Alabama and Arkansas heated up last season, but now the two programs are battling it out for a notable transfer.

Former Oral Roberts forward Kevin Obanor, who withdrew from the 2021 NBA Draft, on Monday narrowed his list of possible teams from 10 to four. The teams are Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois and Texas Tech.

Obanor was a big-time star in the NCAA Tournament, and the 6-foot-8 forward from Houston, was named to the first-team All-Summit squad after he poured in an average of 18.7 points and 9.6 rebounds, while he shot 46.3 percent from 3-point range. He averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 boards as a sophomore and 14.8 points and 7.4 rebounds as a freshman.

SEC fans, especially Arkansas and Florida, may remember him from March when he helped the 15-seed make a run to the Sweet 16 before it lost to Arkansas by two points. Obanor had 30 points and 11 rebounds against Ohio State, then 28 points and 11 boards against Florida. He had another double-double in the loss to the Razorbacks.

He had a productive season all around. Obanor started all 28 games and led the team in scoring eight times and in rebounds 24 times. His 15 double-doubles on the year ranked fifth in the nation as he reached double-digit scoring in 27 of 28 games, including 12 outings of 20 or more points and two games with at least 30 points, per his ORU bio.
