SEC Week 8 prop bets:

TEXAS A&M’S OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION AT ALABAMA

Options — 250-300 yards; 301-350; 351-400; 401 or more

Projection: The Crimson Tide may be favored by double digits on Saturday, but Alabama doesn’t match up well with Texas A&M’s up-tempo Air Raid offense. Since Kevin Sumlin’s arrival in College Station, the Aggies have accumulated 1,046 yards, 54 first downs and 71 points in two meetings with Alabama. Last time Texas A&M played in Tuscaloosa, Johnny Manziel’s star shined brightest during a 29-24 win. It’s safe to bet the Aggies won’t have problems moving the chains with a similar quarterback. We’re going with 401 yards or more.

SACKS + TAKEAWAYS FOR OLE MISS VS. TENNESSEE

Options — 2; 3; 4; 5; 6 or more

Projection: Tied for the SEC lead this season with 16 takeaways, the Ole Miss defense has a chance to feast on Tennessee this weekend in Oxford, a team that’s failed to protect quarterback Justin Worley throughout the season. Against a comparable front seven at Oklahoma in September, the Vols turned it over three times, allowed five sacks and managed just 10 points. Worley’s bound to throw an interception — or two — against the Rebels’ pressure and heavy blitzing off the edge will doom the Tennessee offense. Let’s put the over/under for the Landsharks’ total sacks and takeaways at six.

HOW QUICKLY WILL TREON HARRIS PLAY VS. MIZZOU?

Options — First quarter; Second Quarter; Second Half; None

Projection: Florida fans want to see the true freshman quarterback now, but we’re not too sure Will Muschamp agrees. It’s not a talent issue with Harris rather total number of reps and knowledge of the playbook. The question is when Harris will play Saturday, not if, since Muschamp’s seat burns hotter with every empty possession led by Jeff Driskel. Florida’s East hopes hinge on this home game after last week’s debacle in the final minute. Muschamp said this week that Driskel will start and that each quarterback’s playing time will be determined by the hot hand the rest of the way. We think Harris will trot on the field late in the first quarter after a turnover. What are your thoughts?
