It looks like ESPN will be hit with another round of layoffs in November.

The popular sports network has undergone a number of changes over the past couple of years. The cost of broadcast rights to top sporting events continue to rise while the loss of subscribers continues to hurt.

ESPN already laid off around 100 employees earlier this year, but it looks like another 100 or more people will be let go at the end of the month.

Richard Deitsch with Sports Illustrated shared the news:

ESPN will lay off more than 100 staffers after the Thanksgiving holidays, multiple sources tell Sports Illustrated. The layoffs…will hit positions across ESPN including front-facing talent on the television side, producers, executives, and digital and technology staffers. The SportsCenter franchise is expected to be hit hard.

It will be interesting to see how this affects the company moving forward. ESPN is still a big-time player in the sports media world, but change is necessary from time-to-time.

Unfortunately, that change can be particularly difficult for those involved when job layoffs are determined.
