We’re beginning to meet that portion of the schedule where teams must bring it each week and anything can happen.

There are some big conference games and out-of-conference games for the SEC in Week 4, and SDS is going to break down who’s savoring the spotlight.

SEC East

Florida at Alabama: No rivalry has arguably had more at stake continually over the last 25 years. When the Gators and Crimson Tide clash, it seems as if there’s something big on the line. Florida enters a fledgling program that needs a marquee win, and a win against Alabama in Tuscaloosa would certainly qualify. Alabama still has a situation at quarterback supposedly, but Blake Sims appears to be the guy the Crimson Tide are moving forward with. We’re going to see some really good matchups in this game. Florida’s defense is stout and we all know the type of playmakers Alabama possesses on offensive. You’ll want to watch Amari Cooper vs. Vernon Hargreaves III all day.

South Carolina at Vanderbilt: Both teams are coming off big wins, but South Carolina’s defeat of Georgia last weekend revived its season. Derek Mason has listed Patton Robinette as the starter at quarterback though he insists on playing two signal callers. Dylan Thompson and running back Brandon Wilds are coming off big performances against the Bulldogs and look to have a big day in Nashville.

SEC West

Mississippi State at LSU: This is a “measuring stick” game of sorts for Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs. If Mississippi State can go into Death Valley at night and leave with a win, that will go a long way in legitimizing them as contenders in the SEC West and will surely vault them into the AP Top 25. LSU’s defense is no joke, though. This is one of the underrated games of the weekend that should be tight all the way through.

Auburn at Kansas State: We saw a very good game last night, and the Tigers passed a tough test on the road in a very hostile environment against a disciplined team. Nick Marshall and the offense struggled with the Tigers streaks of 12 games scoring at least 30 points and 13 games rushing for at least 200 yards being snapped last night. Ellis Johnson’s defense was stout all night long that forced Kansas State to miss several opportunities to win the game.
