After another exciting week of football, the SEC has named its Players of the Week for Week 5.
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart was a co-offensive player of the week after racking up 439 yards of total offense and 5 touchdowns in the Rebels electric win over LSU Saturday night. Dart had 2 clutch touchdowns in the game, including what would be the game-winning touchdown pass.
Kentucky running back Ray Davis was the other Co-Offensive player of the Week for his 289 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in the win over Florida Saturday.
Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon was the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week after putting together an 11-tackle, 1-sack and 2-tackles for loss performance in the Bulldogs’ win over Auburn.
Texas A&M punt returner and wide receiver Ainias Smith was the SEC’s Special Teams Player of the Week after returning 3 punts for a total of 131 yards, including an 82-yard return he took to score.
Kentucky’s Jeremy Flax was the Offensive Lineman of the Week, grading at 87% and recording 5 knockdowns while not allowing a sack the entire game. He helped the Wildcats achieve 329 rushing yards on the game.
Tennessee’s James Pearce was the Defensive Lineman of the Week after picking up 3 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a quarterback hurry on the game.
Alabama’s Caleb Downs earned Co-Freshman of the Week after picking up a career-high 13 tackles and 5 solo tackles against Mississippi State. Georgia place kicker Peyton Woodring was the other Co-Freshman of the Week after nailing 2 field goals and 3 PATs on the night.
