The Auburn Tigers defeated South Carolina 42-35 on the Plains Saturday, earning their eighth consecutive win over the Gamecocks since they joined the SEC more than 20 years ago.

The Tigers and Gamecocks played four times as non-conference foes, and Auburn finished 2-1-1 in those games. The Gamecocks haven’t defeated Auburn since 1933.

Here are some other streaks from around the SEC that were extended or ended this weekend:

Alabama: The Crimson Tide scored in a 177th straight game to extend the longest streak in school history when Amari Cooper scored an 80-yard touchdown in the first quarter of a win over Tennessee. Alabama also won its eighth straight game over the Volunteers and its fifth straight game over UT in Knoxville.

Auburn: In addition to extending their win streak over South Carolina, the Tigers also won their 14th straight home game, matching Florida State for the longest active home win streak in the nation. Auburn sold out Jordan-Hare Stadium for a seventh straight home game, setting a new school record.

Kentucky: The Wildcats intercepted a pass in a sixth straight game in a loss to Mississippi State Saturday. It’s the Wildcats’ longest streak of games with a pick since 2011. Kentucky had just three interceptions all of last season but already has 13 in eight games this season.

LSU: Tigers’ place kicker Colby Delahoussaye snapped a streak of 11 made field goals dating back to last season with a miss in a win over Ole Miss Saturday night.

Mississippi State: The No. 1 Bulldogs won their 10th straight game dating back to last season, the second-longest active winning streak in the nation behind only No. 2 Florida State, which has won 23 games in a row dating back to 2012. Mississippi State has also won five straight road games at Kentucky following Saturday’s 45-31 win in Lexington.

Missouri: Defensive lineman Harold Brantley recorded a sack for a fourth straight game with a late sack in a win over Vanderbilt Saturday.

Ole Miss: The Rebels forced four turnovers in a loss to LSU, and they’ve now forced at least one turnover in 31 straight games, the second-longest active streak in the nation. Bo Wallace threw his first interception of SEC play in the loss, snapping a streak of 126 straight passes without an interception.

South Carolina: The Gamecocks amassed more than 500 yards of total offense for a third straight game in the loss to Auburn, their longest such streak since 1995.

Vanderbilt: The Commodores’ streak of 14 straight games forcing a turnover was snapped in the loss to Mizzou Saturday as the ‘Dores failed to force a Tigers turnover on the evening.
