How SEC teams have fared all-time against No. 1-ranked opponents
If you’re a member of the SEC West, but you’re not Alabama, chances are you’ve played the No. 1 team in the nation quite often.
Arkansas, for example, leads the SEC with 21 overall games against the No. 1 team in the Associated Press poll. Many metrics point to the Razorbacks as having the most difficult 2015 schedule in the conference as well, and it’s possible the team faces yet another No. 1 at some point this season.
Georgia and South Carolina, despite playing in the same conference, have faced No. 1 teams just five times — or fewer than 1/4 of Arkansas’ total.
Alabama is the only SEC team with a winning record against No. 1-ranked teams, while Missouri, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt are a combined 0-29 in such games.
