The bowl picture won’t be set until Sunday when the College Football Playoff selection committee reveals its final rankings, but we know how many Power 5 teams are going bowling based on the end of the regular season.

From the Power 5 conferences, 41 teams will head to a bowl game. The ACC leads the way with 10 teams, with the SEC and Big Ten tied for second (9 teams), as shown in this graphic from FOX:

The SEC, of course, would have been tied for first had the NCAA not slapped Mizzou with a postseason ban. The Tigers finished 6-6 in the regular season. The SEC is virtually guaranteed to have a larger presence in the New Year’s Six, with at least one (possibly two) CFP teams, a guaranteed Sugar Bowl bid, and possible representation in the Orange and/or Cotton Bowls.

We just can’t wait to hear Dabo Swinney bring up 10 ACC teams bowling in a future media opportunity…
