Yes, November cannibalization has taken place in the SEC West.

But the division that includes two Playoff contenders remains college football’s best and proved it again Saturday. Arkansas, a team that lost its 17th straight league contest on Oct. 18, completed a colossal turnaround with its second shutout in as many weeks against a nationally-ranked opponent.

The Razorbacks’ victory makes them bowl eligible, the first time an entire Power 5 division’s been bowl eligible since the ACC Atlantic in 2008. It is however the first time a seven-team division has accomplished the feat.

This won’t help the nationwide SEC bias claims coming from folks outside the southeast.

With one week left in the regular season, seven teams are going bowling:

  • Alabama 10-1
  • Mississippi State 10-1
  • Ole Miss 8-3
  • Auburn 8-3
  • Texas A&M 7-4
  • LSU 7-4
  • Arkansas 6-5
