One of the hottest topics every college football offseason is rankings. It’s an endless debate die-hard fans have for months on end and the beauty of it is no one can be proven right or wrong until the season actually arrives in late summer.

Well, the latest release of ESPN’s preseason SP+ rankings from Bill Connelly will only fuel those debates as spring approaches as all 14 SEC teams have been ranked nationally by ESPN.

For reference, here is the formula Connelly inputs into his system to get the SP+ preseason rankings: 1. Returning production, 2. Recent recruiting and 3. Recent history

Based on that information, here’s how SP+ ranks each SEC team nationally:

#1 Alabama

#4 Georgia

#6 LSU

#7 Florida

#10 Texas A&M

#11 Auburn

#19 Tennessee

#28 Kentucky

#35 South Carolina

#37 Ole Miss

#43 Mississippi State

#49 Missouri

#76 Arkansas

#101 Vanderbilt
