Former South Carolina QB Connor Shaw will be looking for a new NFL home heading into the 2017 season.

On Tuesday, the Bears cut Shaw to make room for free agent WR Victor Cruz, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Shaw missed last season with a broken leg, and it’ll be interesting to see where his career goes from here. The Bears are the second team to let go of Shaw, with the Browns being the first.

Following his incredible South Carolina career, Shaw signed with the Cleveland Browns after going undrafted in 2014. He started the 2014 season finale against the Ravens, throwing for 14-of-28 for 177 yards with no touchdowns and one INT. The following August, Shaw injured his thumb during a preseason game that would reportedly keep him out a year for recovery time. The Browns released Shaw in June of 2016, and he was signed by the Bears on July 1. Shaw suffered another setback when he broke his leg last August.

Shaw threw for 6,074 yards, 56 touchdowns and six INTs while adding 1,683 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns with the Gamecocks. He finished his South Carolina career with the best record for a signal caller in Gamecock history: 27-5 as a starter. He is most known for his perfect 17-0 record at Williams-Brice Stadium.
