College football fans, media rip South Carolina for key 4th-and-19 play call

College football fans are becoming more and more knowledgable about the game they love. Analytics are accessible to everyone in this day and age.

Thus, most educated fans these days know that going for it on fourth down is often the right call if you’re playing the percentages.

However, you also have to call the right play on 4th down, which is a part of the equation often overlooked by coaches.

Case in point: check out this play call from South Carolina on a key 4th and 19 play in the fourth quarter of a tight game against North Carolina on Saturday night:

Yeah, that’s just not going to cut it. New South Carolina OC Dowell Loggains whiffed on that call.

Yeah, maybe that play should be torn out of the playbook before Week 2.
