Paul Finebaum discussed South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer’s broken foot that he suffered following the Gamecocks’ 41-39 loss to Florida last Saturday.

It’s safe to say that the popular ESPN personality was none too amused with Beamer’s injury and his joking demeanor towards it:

“This guy was laughing about it, cajoling, thinking it was like a high school frat prank,” Finebaum said during his Tuesday show. “This is a head football coach at a major SEC school and he breaks his foot in frustration. If he had shown half that effort in trying to stop Florida from blowing them to pieces at the end of that game, I think maybe the season wouldn’t be on the brink of going straight down the toilet. That was really incredible.”

Beamer said that he was frustrated with himself for not putting his team in a good enough position to win the pivotal SEC East clash against UF. He did say that surgery is not expected and he will not need a walking boot. According to Beamer, USC Athletics Director Ray Tanner “died laughing” when he told him.

The media first learned of Beamer’s injury when he limped into his weekly Tuesday press conference. He said that he did not initially think he hurt himself, but after the adrenaline of the game wore off. he knew he had broken something.
