Trevor Lawrence was named the starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. The former Clemson star and No. 1 overall pick beat out Gardner Minshew II for the job.

But, through limited preseason action entering Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, Lawrence had yet to toss a touchdown pass.

On Sunday afternoon, that changed, as he connected with former South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper for a nice 18-yard touchdown:

There was a flag on the play, but it went against the defense, so the Jaguars declined it, letting Cooper’s sideline TD grab stand.

We’ll see how many more times the players who came from opposite sides of the Palmetto State rivalry connect this fall. Cooper is making a good case for playing time with catches like that, though.
