Shane Beamer has promoted quality practices throughout this season, but there was something different about the last 2 weeks that helped the Gamecocks pull off the massive upset against Florida.

Beamer is hoping that translates this week when his team travels to Missouri.

“Honestly, we had spirited practices with plenty of pep even before the Florida game,” he said. “It was great to see our guys’ hard work rewarded with the way we played on Saturday. … The biggest challenge for us is coming off a big win like we did, can we be even better on Saturday?”

Beamer is trying to set the right mindset for the team to continue the momentum it built last week. And even though the Gamecocks are on the cusp of bowl eligibility, Beamer has stressed to his players and fans to not think about a bowl game yet. However, he’s still looking to be the third straight coach at South Carolina to make a bowl in his first season in Columbia.
