Call him 1-for-1 as the head coach at South Carolina in recruiting.

New coach Shane Beamer has landed the first new offer he handed out as leader of the Gamecocks when a JUCO cornerback, Isaiah Norris, of Anderson, S.C. (TL Hanna) by way of and Georgia Military College will soon join the Gamecocks.

Norris was committed to Middle Tennessee State but he was the first new offer handed out by Beamer after his hire, SportsTalkSC reported, and the Gamecocks quickly moved to the top with him. He also had offers from Tennessee and Washington State.

Norris, in fact, did sign with the Gamecocks but there won’t be an announcement until Christmas Day, sources told Phil Kornblut.

Norris is listed at 6-feet and 170 pounds and ranked the No. 8 JUCO cornerback in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. Des Kitchings, South Carolina’s running backs coach, who joined Will Muschamp’s staff in April, is believed to be one of the staff holdovers for Beamer, and he made the connection for the Gamecocks.

Norris played the 2019 season at New Mexico Military and had 5 interceptions. He will not play this spring for Georgia Military opting to focus on his grades so he can graduate this spring.
