South Carolina continued its recruiting momentum on Tuesday night with a flip of in-state wide receiver Zavier Short, who was previously committed to Appalachian State.

Short is a 3-star recruit from Chapin, South Carolina, and is listed at 6-foot-2 and 208 pounds. He’s rated the No. 14 recruit in the state of South Carolina, according to the 247Sports Composite.

“It’s 20 minutes away from my house,” Short told The Big Spur. “Ever since I moved here from West Virginia in fourth grade, you pick South Carolina or you pick Clemson, and with my family, I grew up liking South Carolina. It’s always been my dream school.

“I didn’t ever think I was ever going to get the chance, and then when I did, it was really a no-brainer.”

The Gamecocks have 21 commits now, and are currently ranked No. 16 in the country, and No. 6 in the SEC.
