South Carolina had an incredibly busy Sunday in recruiting as the Gamecocks added 3 recruits to their 2023 class.

Cameron Upshaw, a 3-star safety out of Perry, Fla. (from Taylor County High School), announced his commitment before his official visit ended. The third commit was from Connor Cox, a 3-star tight end who is listed at 6-foot-5, 220-pound, out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. Earlier in the day, the Gamecocks got a pledge from 4-star 2023 WR Kelton Henderson, a native of Fort Myers, Florida.

Cox is the No. 34-ranked tight end in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to South Carolina over offers from more than 15 schools, including Boston College, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Texas and West Virginia.

Arkansas, Florida State and Maryland were among the other schools considered by Upshaw, the No. 68 safety in the class according to the 247Sports Composite.

“(South Carolina) feels like home, as far as me hanging around with the coaches, not even just the coaches, but the players, too,” Upshaw said, per The Big Spur. “During the OV, we were hanging out at night. I feel at home. I could see myself coming here, staying in the city and just being a big asset to South Carolina football.”

The Gamecocks now have 5 commitments in their class.
