Karson Hobbs has decided to decommit from South Carolina. The 3-star cornerback from Cincinnati, Ohio in the Class of 2024 revealed the decision on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

“First, I would like to thank South Carolina and the coaches for overwhelming love and support they expressed to me after my acceptance into the Gamecock community. I would also like to thank my family and friends for their support during this recruitment process,” Hobbs said. “With that being said, I have decided to decommit from The University of South Carolina.”

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Hobbs is regarded by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 21 player from Ohio and the nation’s No. 50 cornerback. Hobbs recently took an unofficial visit last week to Notre Dame, which could have contributed to his decision.

South Carolina is down to 1 commit for the Class of 2024, which is 4-star Connecticut quarterback Dante Reno.

South Carolina has a 6-3 overall record and is third place in the SEC East. Most recently, South Carolina defeated host Vanderbilt 38-27. Next up for South Carolina is a road matchup at Florida on Saturday (4 p.m. ET/SEC Network).
