Spencer Rattler looked like the Spencer Rattler the rest of the country thought he was going to be this season Saturday night against Tennessee.
The Oklahoma transfer totaled 438 yards passing on 30/37 completions for 6 touchdowns. The Gamecocks scored on 9 of their 10 drives on the day and fully embarrassed a team looking for a chance at the College Football Playoff field.
His play against Tennessee has won him a Maxwell Player of the Week award for Week 12.
Another day, another national award for @SpencerRattler after he led @GamecockFB to the huge win over the Vols. This time from the @MaxwellFootballhttps://t.co/fBjOsCjuzc

This was easily the best week of Rattler’s collegiate career. Tennessee’s defense looked lost, but Rattler was connecting on difficult throws and made very few mistakes. He did some with his legs too, fooling Tennessee linebackers from time to time for a couple first downs.
Let’s see if Rattler can carry his strong week over to Clemson in Week 13.
