Spencer Rattler and his new South Carolina teammates have hit it off pretty well.

The Oklahoma transfer spoke to the media on Monday, along with teammates MarShawn Lloyd, Eric Douglas and Luke Doty. And Doty, the former starting QB, shared his thoughts on a possible position switch.

“I’ll do what’s best for the Gamecocks,” Doty said. “It doesn’t matter what I need to do. Whatever is gonna help the team. That’s what I’m all about.”

As for Rattler, he said tweaks to the offense just to suit him are being installed. Rattler added that being able to freelance was a reason he chose South Carolina, and there are no restrictions on that even in spring. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield has told him: “Just be you. Attack.”

“I feel really comfortable right now, but there’s always the little tweaks you got to do with different kinds of quarterbacks,” Rattler said.

Running back MarShawn Lloyd has enjoyed a positive first impression of Rattler.

“The stuff you guys know about Spencer — he’s the real deal,” he said. “He’s going to show you guys a lot when he’s out there.”

The same can be said for center Eric Douglas, who told Rattler, “I got you (in protection). All I need you to do is just cue up the band for us.”
