Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was not happy it was announced on Tuesday that the Bedlam Rivalry between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State would not continue once Oklahoma leaves for the SEC in 2025.

In his press conference on Tuesday, Gundy gave his statement on the historic rivalry falling apart, and he wasn’t happy.

“OU’s officials were in negotiations with the SEC for months and months before anybody in the league or the conference knew about it. During those multi-billion-dollar conversations, I wonder if Bedlam was ever brought up that point, instead of the money,” Gundy said. “Bedlam is history, we all know that. OU chose follow Texas and the money to the SEC, it’s OK. So now, we are having, what I think are childish discussions in my opinion, over something that is done.

Gundy also wanted to clear the air about which program is to blame about the ending of the storied rivalry.

“I would like to make this the last statement I have because I have no hard feelings, but what’s going on is almost the situation is a husband and a wife or a girlfriend and a boyfriend,” he said. “When you know you are dead wrong and you try to turn the table and make them think they’re wrong. Oklahoma State had no part in this. We didn’t have any decision to choose to leave the conference, they did.”

Bedlam is one of the oldest and most historic rivalries in college football as Oklahoma leads the series 90-19-7.
