When it comes to fake punts, you have to have a little bit of creativity.

The Texas Longhorns did not have that on Saturday afternoon when they ran a fake punt early in the fourth quarter against Baylor.

As you can see below, this play took way too long to develop and never had a chance of gaining the necessary 11 yards:

Texas trailed 24-21 at that point, but the Bears quickly scored after the failed fake punt to take a 31-21 lead.

Things aren’t going too well for Steve Sarkisian these days as he leads the Longhorns in his first season at the helm in Austin.
