Chris Doering sees the SEC West as wide open after 5 weeks, and the SEC Network analyst has a new team to watch.

“I’m going to be honest with you guys, I’m starting to feel a little something about Texas A&M,” Doering said Saturday night. “Here’s the thing. In a division that’s as wide open as the SEC West is, why not Texas A&M.”

The Aggies have a significant game this week against Alabama at Kyle Field, and he noted that the Aggies beat the Crimson Tide the last time the game was played there.

“I’m going to say on record right now, Texas A&M’s the best team in the SEC West,” Doering said.

The Aggies had an all-around win over Arkansas on Saturday.

They made 7 sacks and 15 tackles for loss for the second week in a row, and got a pick-6 from linebacker Chris Russell Jr. who returned an intercepted tipped pass 16 yards for a touchdown. Then the highlight came on a special teams TD when Ainias Smith scored on an 82-yard punt return.
