The news of UCLA firing Jim Mora on Sunday had implications on the SEC, as multiple schools are said to be impacted.

Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd even said embattled Texas A&M coach could be a candidate depending on his situation with the Aggies. That follows an earlier report out of the Dallas Morning News that said Sumlin “seems like a perfect fit at a place like UCLA.”

“I could see him landing at another Power Five job that doesn’t come with as much pressure as A&M,” A&M beat writer Ben Baby wrote. “Maybe a job in the Pac-12 opens up and he jumps on that.”

Sumlin played at Purdue, and one of his early coaching successes was reportedly his ability to recruit out of Texas. So that could be another reason the Bruins may be interested if he parts ways with the Aggies.

Ironically, it was Texas A&M’s shocking loss to UCLA early this season that really turned up the heat on Sumlin.

The Aggies improved to 7-4 Saturday with a win over Ole Miss.
