Draft hangover? Celtics unable to find Robert Williams for scheduled conference call
Just over 12 hours after selecting him in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft, the Celtics apparently can’t find Robert Williams.
The former Aggie standout was a no-show for his scheduled conference call on Friday. While that could be cause for concern, the team doesn’t appear to be at all worried about his absence — at least not yet.
Jay King of The Athletic was among the first to report Williams did not show for his scheduled call with the team:
The Celtics have not been able to track down Robert Williams for his conference call this morning. It has been postponed.

According to Chris Forsberg of ESPN, the team is chalking this one up to a simple miscommunication.
Celtics not concerned, appears a simple miscommunication. But a fun start to the Robert Williams era nonetheless. https://t.co/oWcB1bXtAK

Without a doubt, Williams celebrated his arrival to the NBA following his selection — as all players that experience that incredible honor deserve to do — but it wouldn’t be a surprise if the celebration was at least partly to blame for this one.
