The Texas A&M Aggies came up just short against No. 2 Clemson earlier this year, but that game was at home.

Now, they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, who look unstoppable under QB Tua Tagovailoa.

However, crazier upsets have happened, and CBS analyst Gary Danielson spoke with SDS this week about how A&M can keep things close. He said confidence will be key for the Aggies at Bryant-Denny Stadium:

“One of the things they’ve got going for them heading into this game is belief they can play with the best,” he said. “After facing Clemson and doing what they did, they get on that airplane believing they have played against the best and can compete against the best.

“They also bring a quarterback who can throw the ball and a coach who believes in him and moves the ball around.”

Indeed, Kellen Mond looked great against Clemson, but he’ll face a more hostile environment this weekend. At the end of the day, though, Danielson the biggest key to beating Alabama is toughness:

“You’ve got to man up,” he said. “There’s no running away from Alabama.”

Will A&M be able to pull off the massive upset? Danielson and Brad Nessler will be on the call for CBS at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday afternoon.
