The Texas A&M Aggies had the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation in the 2022 cycle. It seems they’re going to be putting at least one elite position group from that cycle to work Saturday.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher said Wednesday that all three freshmen tight ends will see action Saturday against Sam Houston.

The freshmen Aggies in question are Jake Johnson, Donovan Green and Theo Melin Ohrstrom, all 4-star prospects. Johnson was rated as the No. 1 tight end in the 2022 cycle, while Green and Ohrstrom came in at No. 4 and No. 6.

Given Max Wright and Blake Smith are healthy, this seems like a strange move to rotate five tight ends, even in special teams. Fisher could also be using an overmatched opponent in Sam Houston to see what he has at the position.
