Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M entered Saturday on a 6-game losing streak. Their opponent at Kyle Field was UMass, whose only win during the season was against FCS Stony Brook.

The Aggies’ bowl fate was sealed a week ago with a loss to Auburn. They’ll host LSU to wrap up 2022, and all signs point to a last-place finish in the SEC West as this will go down as one of the worst seasons in program history.

Before the Tigers, though, the Aggies had to do battle with the Minutemen. As bad as things have gone for Fisher’s team, they at least should have had an easy time against their opponents.

That wasn’t quite the case as the Aggies led by just 10-3 at halftime. While they eventually won 20-3, the fact that they struggled to put away a team of UMass’ caliber speaks volumes about the state of the program right now. And that meant another week of heat aimed toward their head coach:
