What Kevin Sumlin said after Texas A&M's OT win over Arkansas
It wasn’t too pretty, but Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M beat Arkansas 50-43 in OT.
Things didn’t start to get good until the second half, when the Hogs and Aggies went back and forth scoring TDs and trading barbs. Texas A&M eventually intercepted a pass in the end zone in OT to end it.
This game will take some heat off of Sumlin, but it will really start to turn up on Bret Bielema.

Sumlin: We converted two fourth downs which turned into positives for us. Those were big because points came off of them.

Sumlin: This is all part of growth process [for Mond]. They had max coverage a lot. We took some easy throws and then was able settle down.

Sumlin: Had success running ball and [late in game], we felt good about our kicker and we didn't want to lose opportunity with young guy.

Coach Sumlin: You don't win games like this on one side of the ball. This was a total team win.
— The Zone (@Zone1150) September 23, 2017
Sumlin: In a game like this, it takes all phases. Defensively, we made enough plays. Offensively, scored points…some good & bad all-around.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 23, 2017
Sumlin: In these games, with young players, it’s up to the older players to get guys together. Message is [up] to team leaders.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 23, 2017
Sumlin: When play is blown dead, by rule play is dead. Fumbles are reviewable but out of bounds plays aren’t. Frustrating but right call.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 23, 2017
Sumlin: What these guys are doing is hitting reset button every Monday. They’re playing hard. Making mistakes but they’re playing hard.
