Matt Barrie and Paul Finebaum shared their weekly Sunday takeaways of the main storylines from Saturday, and the SportsCenter anchor said his takeaway from Texas A&M’s win over Miami was it “still wasn’t a football Picasso,” but the Aggies got a much needed win before a national audience against a ranked team.

“I think you could see this one coming,” Finebaum said. “I thought it was a pretty remarkable memory considering everything going wrong with the program. Losing a bunch of players through suspension or stupidity or injury. So give Jimbo Fisher a lot of kudos for holding firm. It basically gave him a stay until the next weekend.”

While there’s still uncertainty about Fisher’s future, Finebaum said, it’s at least steady in the short term because Miami was a losable game.

Now the national attention shifts to Miami and the latest “false alarm” about the Hurricanes being “back” as Finebaum noted, while Texas A&M turns its attention to Arkansas and an SEC West showdown.
