Paul Finebaum didn’t hold back when talking about Jimb Fisher’s tenure at Texas A&M.

Fisher was fired by Texas A&M Sunday morning, and Finebaum didn’t shy away from calling his tenure what it was: a failure.

“I applaud Ross Bjork, the Texas A&M athletics director, for saying ‘You know what, it may cost us that much money, but we have to make a move,” Finebaum said on Get Up Monday morning. “This program was digressing, Jimbo Fisher turned out to be a very unsuccessful coach, he was a failure at Texas A&M. That’s why he’s unemployed today. Wealthy, but unemployed.”

In Fisher’s 5-year tenure, Texas A&M did not reach 10 wins one time and won 9 games just twice. His best season was the shortened 2020 season that saw the Aggies go 9-1 with an Orange Bowl finish, but unfortunately for the Aggies, that was the pinnacle of the Fisher’s time at Texas A&M.

Texas A&M owes Fisher a $76 million buyout and will begin the search for its next coach. In the meantime, co-defensive coordinator and D-line coach Elijah Robinson will serve as the interim head coach.
