Paul Finebaum has evaluated Texas A&M, and while he continues to give Jimbo Fisher more time, the alarm bells are beginning to ring in Aggieland following the loss to Appalachian State.

Finebaum made his regular Monday appearance on WJOX in Birmingham, Alabama and the “McElroy and Cubelic In the morning” show and gave his latest thoughts on the Aggies.

“I would say they’re at DEFCON 3 right now, trending toward DEFCON 1,” Finebaum said. “I mean this is a really serious situation, and unlike what I just got through saying about Alabama, I mean Alabama was on the road at Texas, A&M at home against App State, and it’s inexcusable.”

Finebaum said he did not disrespect App State, in fact he saw the game against North Carolina and believes the Mountaineers are a good team.

“But they have no business playing A&M,” Finebaum said. “I am reluctant to start believing all the critics of Jimbo Fisher, I am reluctant to believe that he has pulled the greatest heist in Texas history with $100 million. I said I’m reluctant, I didn’t say I’m not starting to. Because I don’t know where else to go, because you have to start thinking maybe this thing is going in the wrong direction, maybe this is not the answer and maybe they got it all wrong with Jimbo Fisher. I am not ready to go there yet.”

Finebaum said he wanted to believe in Fisher, but he has the wrong quarterback playing, and “when he makes that change, if he makes it, can the season be salvaged? And I think you have to serious question whether or not it can be.”
