Here’s a couple of quick thoughts on Texas A&M’s emphatic 52-28 win at South Carolina, snapping the Gamecocks’ 18-game home winning streak:

What it means: Kenny Hill’s legit, Texas A&M’s front seven is much-improved and the Aggies’ arsenal of offensive weapons appear to be just fine without Johnny Manziel.

What I liked: Texas A&M’s fearless attitude in a hostile environment. The Aggies played their game and ignored all the pre-game talk as a 10.5-point underdog. Hill was flawless in his first career start, shattering the school record for passing yards in a single game with a mesmerizing 511 yards. South Carolina surrendered a school-record 677 yards, a shocking number for a stingy unit that gave up just 196.2 yards per game last season. The Gamecocks were caught out of position often on the boundary and were beaten down the seam by a faster, more efficient offense.

Who’s the man: Is there any question? Hill played with extreme confidence and showed total control of the offense behind a dominant offensive line. Hill tossed it around to 12 different receivers with 44 completions and three touchdowns. The Aggies ran 99 plays, converted 12 of 17 third downs and consistently gassed an inexperienced defense. It was the ultimate performance offensively.

Key Play: Hill’s 14-yard scoring strike to Edward Pope in the second quarter capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive and quieted a sellout crowd.

What’s next: The Aggies are sure to move up in the polls and take on Lamar next in their home opener on Sept. 6.
