Ross Bjork wrote a heartfelt message saying goodbye to the Texas A&M community on Friday.

Bjork says this is his final official day as the Aggies’ athletic director before he departs for Ohio State to take the same job in Columbus. Bjork arrived in College Station in 2019 after a lengthy tenure as Ole Miss’ athletic director.

“Our goal was to make Texas A&M better than we found it and I am proud of what we accomplished on and off the fields of play,” Bjork wrote in-part. “Our family will always love and cherish our time in Aggieland and these special bonds will last a lifetime.”

Here’s his full letter:

Bjork did not hire Jimbo Fisher originally, but he did give him a 10-year contract extension ahead of the 2021 season. After Texas A&M fired Fisher late in 2023, Bjork hired Mike Elko away from Duke to take over as head coach.

Texas A&M is in the midst of its search to find its next athletic director. Former football coach RC Slocum is currently serving as interim athletic director.
