Texas A&M has made an adjustment to its 2026 football schedule.
The Aggies will host Missouri State in 2026, the programs announced on Friday afternoon. The game will be played on Sept. 5, 2026. It will be the first-ever meeting between Missouri State and Texas A&M.
While Missouri State is currently an FCS program, that’s set to change in the immediate future. Missouri State will officially join the ranks of the FBS on July 1, 2025, and will play in Conference USA this upcoming fall. It’s a big step for the Bears, who have never before competed at the FBS level.
Missouri State has long been a popular opponent for FBS programs. In recent years, the Bears have faced programs like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Iowa, amongst others. Missouri State is winless against FBS opposition since at least 2000.
Texas A&M still has 1 opening for its nonconference slate in 2026 — assuming the SEC stays at 8 conference games for that season. Currently the Aggies are slated to face Arizona State and Tarleton State in addition to the Bears.
Future nonconference opponents for Texas A&M include Notre Dame (2025), Arizona State (2026 and 2027) and Louisville (2028 and 2029).
