Less than a month after he entered the transfer portal, Texas A&M TE Glenn Beal is back with the program and at practice.

The Eagle reported that Jimbo Fisher offered that update.

Beal started this season against Clemson, Lamar and Auburn. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder saw action in nine games, with five catches for 21 yards. Beal gradually gave up playing time to true freshman Jalen Wydermyer as the season went on. Wydermyer caught 31 passes for 419 yards and six touchdowns.

Beal was a highly-touted prospect out of high school from New Orleans. Beal was a 3-star prospect and the No. 24 player from Louisiana and No. 26 tight end in the country in his class, but the top tight in from Louisiana in 2018, according to 247Sports. He had 19 offers out of high school, and reportedly picked Texas A&M over LSU.

Fisher shared Beal’s news while he discussed RB Jashaun Corbin’s decision to enter the transfer portal Monday, emphasizing that a portal entry doesn’t always mean the player will leave.

“As you talk things out and work through things, you never know,” Fisher said. “At the same time, Jashaun was a heck of a player and a very good player, but, unfortunately, that’s today’s day and time.”

However, the depth is only getting deeper at that position.

Along with Wydermyer, the Aggies next season will have redshirt freshman Baylor Cupp, who missed the entire season after he suffered an injury during fall camp. A&M signed three-star tight end Blake Smith out of Southlake Carroll on Wednesday.
