Signing day was just a couple days ago, but that doesn’t mean the offseason or recruitment is over by any means. There are still plenty of players who are looking for new homes, and the recruiting will never stop.

On Friday morning, Texas A&M received a commitment from a rival SEC school, as De’Rickey Wright announced on social media that he would become an Aggie.

Wright played the first 4 years of his collegiate career at Vanderbilt, where he started 10 games last season. He finished the 2023 year with 46 tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles.

The Aggies have been really hurt by the transfer portal this year, as they have lost guys like Walter Nolen, Evan Stewart and Raymond Cottrell, among others.

Texas A&M hasn’t been great in the transfer portal, as their transfer portal class ranks seventh in the SEC, according to 247Sports.

It has been a busy off-season for the Aggies, as the first move for the football program was to get a new coach after firing Jimbo Fisher. Texas A&M brought back former defensive coordinator Mike Elko to be the head coach, and you can bet the Aggies are going to get aggressive in the transfer portal.
