Texas A&M defeated Kentucky 97-92 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in College Station.

Texas A&M was led by Tyrece Radford and Wade Davis. Radford scored 28 points on 11-of-22 shooting and 3-of-6 from 3-point range. Davis, who had struggled so far this year, scored 31 points and made 6-of-13 from long range.

This was a huge win for Texas A&M. The Aggies entered this game with an 0-2 record in SEC play. The Aggies were just 4-11 in 15 previous matchups against the Wildcats. Despite the slow start in SEC play, Texas A&M is still very much alive for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. A win over a stout Kentucky team will be a big résumé booster for the Aggies come Selection Sunday.

Texas A&M dominated the offensive glass all day, just as it has for the entire 2023-24 season. The Aggies corralled a whopping 25 offensive rebounds in this game, which they turned into 21 second-chance points.

The Aggies had a great day from behind the 3-point line as well. After entering the day amongst the worst 3-point shooting teams in the country, the Aggies made 37.5% of their long range attempts in this win.

It was Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham who led Kentucky to overtime in the first place. Texas A&M led for most of crunch time, but Dillingham made a trio of 3-pointers in the final 2:11 to keep the Wildcats in the game. Then, with 0.6 left in regulation, Sheppard made a pair of free throws to tie the game.

Texas A&M will face Arkansas on the road on Tuesday.
