Texas A&M will miss a key target next season as WR Quartney Davis has announced plans for the 2020 season.

Davis said he would leave for the NFL, something he’s dreamed about since he started playing football. Davis thanked his teammates and coaches for helping him get to this position in his career.

Davis had a productive career in College Station. He caught 54 passes for 616 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Had 99 total catches for 1,201 and 11 touchdowns the previous two seasons in Jimbo Fisher’s offense.

Davis put in a lot of work to get to this level as he dealt with injuries coming out of high school, then suffered a torn ACL in August 2016 shortly after he got to campus. It took him until 2018 to get back to full speed.

This season, Davis had 59 yards on five catches at Clemson, and caught five passes for 82 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown grab against Auburn. He also made the third multi-touchdown game of his career with 22- and 3-yard grabs in the win over Arkansas as he finished with seven catches for 62 yards.

Davis reportedly chose A&M over Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Houston.
