Wandering bird steals the show at Kyle Field as crowd erupts
By Keith Farner
Published:
A bird stole the show at Kyle Field on Saturday night during the first half of the Texas A&M game against Mississippi State.
It was referenced at least twice during the SEC Network broadcast, and the Aggies student section chanted “bird! bird! bird!” during the game, and erupted in cheers when it was shown on the video board.
It made it in the end zone, and stayed on the field for most of the first half during the game.
There were plenty of jokes about the bird having eligibility, and being in the end zone more than either team.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction to the bird:
Texas A&M students continue to chant for a bird on the field to be shown on the jumbotron. They’ve erupted twice when it was shown.
Kids these days.

Knowing A&M, this bird either becomes our mascot or it gets its neck cracked at the end of this game depending on the outcome pic.twitter.com/z93xexBc6j
