What Jimbo Fisher said after the 45-23 loss at Alabama
Jimbo Fisher met with reporters after the Texas A&M loss at Alabama on Saturday.
The Aggies got a strong effort from QB Kellen Mond, who rushed for 98 yards, but was sacked seven times. He was 16-for-33 passing for 196 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
The Aggies return to action next week when they play host to Arkansas.
Jimbo Fisher: Alabama has a heck of a football team and they played really well. They made key plays when they needed to. We gave up too many [big plays]. Our kids played hard and competed but we have to [work through] momentum swings.

Fisher: I'm unhappy that we didn't play better and I have to coach better and we have to think better. But I'm not discouraged. No. Far from discouraged. I'm actually encouraged.

Fisher: I still think there's very good players back there [at DB]. We also lost one of our best guys [in Wilson].

Fisher: They're the national champion and the benchmark. We had opportunities. But with how they score now, they put pressure on you. And they're still a great defense.

Fisher: [Tua] is good and he has good people around him. They have a good scheme and he did a very good job. We have to play better.

Fisher: I couldn't see the crown [on Wilson]. I don't know what you're supposed to do. Losing Donovan hurt.

Fisher: I thought [Mond] competed and played very well. The first pass, he was pressured and had a guy wide open. A guy made a great play. There are a couple of throws and decisions I thought he could [capitalize] on.

Fisher: We fought and played hard but we have to play better. The two turnovers were critical.
