Danny White shared the green light approval from the Board of Trustees about improvements to Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Friday decision came after the Board was asked to approve $90 million of additional funding towards the renovations of Neyland Stadium and Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville. The new budget increases the Lindsey Nelson Stadium renovation budget from $56.8 million to $95.8 million, per WATE.

Plans include enhancing team areas and athlete spaces and modernizing the stadium with premium amenities, seating options and layout. UT intends to redesign the home-plate entrance to the stadium with a “premium tower.”

Tennessee is in the middle of a strong run of 2 College World Series appearances in 3 seasons, and this major expansion is expected to go through the start of the 2025 season. Added seating and amenities along both baselines are expected in 2024 along with wider concourses, added restrooms and more concession stand options.

There will also be an emphasis on premium seating with features including suites, porches, club seats, MVP seats, lodge boxes and 4 tops. It’s expected to add 1,730 potential premium seats.
