Former Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt was a scoring machine in college. Now that he’s in the NFL, he’s wasting no time making his mark there as well.

In the 2nd quarter of Friday’s preseason action, Hyatt broke open and caught a 33-yard TD pass from backup QB Tyrod Taylor. It’s the first TD for Hyatt’s time with the New York Giants.

Hyatt was selected in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft after a phenomenal season in Knoxville in 2022. Hyatt caught 67 passes for 1,267 yards and 15 TDs last season. The speedy receiver stepped up in a big way for the Vols when Cedric Tillman went down with an injury.

Hyatt’s big season helped the Vols to an 11-2 season and an Orange Bowl victory over the Clemson Tigers.

Now in the NFL, Hyatt will try to cement his role with the Giants. The rookie is starting off on the right foot for sure.
