The betting odds for Jon Gruden becoming the next head coach at Tennessee continue to get better.

Butch Jones is still the head coach of the Volunteers, but it is unclear how long he will remain there. No change has officially been made, but Jones has been on the hot seat for much of this season as the Vols are 3-5 and have gone 0-5 in the SEC.

Many fans are ready for a change, and a number of potential replacements have been mentioned should Jones be fired. One name that keeps getting linked to Knoxville is Jon Gruden.

Gruden got his start in coaching with Tennessee as a graduate assistant in 1986 before going on to win a Super Bowl in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has not coached since 2008 when he was with Tampa Bay. Nevertheless, the betting odds continue to get better surrounding speculation that he could return to Tennessee.

The odds for Gruden taking over at Tennessee were 2.5/1 last week, but that number improved Tuesday evening. SDS’ Michael Bratton provided the updated odds on Twitter, and Gruden is now at 2/1 odds to become the next head coach of the Vols:
