The SEC struggled against the ACC in 2016, and Gene Chizik believes the struggles will continue to open this season.

The former Auburn coach, now serving as a college football analyst for the SEC Network, was asked to give his bold prediction in a recent segment. According to Chizik, each Week 1 SEC-ACC matchup will be decided by double digits. The only SEC team he predicted to win this weekend is Alabama.

The most surprising selection by Chizik is his prediction that Tennessee will lose to Georgia Tech by double digits. The Volunteers are currently a three-point favorite over the Yellow Jackets, and Georgia Tech recently dismissed one of its top RBs in Dedrick Mills.

When questioned about his prediction, Chizik acknowledged that he posted a bold statement but would not back down.

“You asked bold,” said Chizik. “I gave you bold.”

Tennessee and Georgia Tech are set to square off Monday night at 8 p.m. ET in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be shown on ESPN.
